How to help to translate eZ Platform v2

Hi members of the eZ Community!

We have users and editors around the world. It’s sometimes useful to have the administration interface translated into the language that the editor likes. We started to translate the product in eZ Platform v2.2. It was a success: few languages obtained 100%.

In order to have more and better translations, we just created a demo website with the in-context translation from crowdin. Feel free to join the community effort. Here are the steps to follow.

  1. Create an account on https://crowdin.com/

  2. Join eZ Platform project (https://crowdin.com/project/ezplatform) by selecting a language

  3. You are all set on crowdin!

  4. Access to https://translation.ezplatform.com/admin (credentials for eZ Platform: admin / publish)

  5. Right click on the page, click on “Inspect” or “Inspect Element”

  6. Click on “Console”

  7. Type
    document.cookie='ez_in_context_translation=1;path=/;'; location.reload();

  8. Just after the page reload, crowdin will ask to select the “target language”.

  9. You can start translating directly from the admin interface!

Here is the color code:

  • red: not translated
  • blue: translated but not approved
  • green: approved

If your preferred language is not listed, just post a comment below. We will be happy to add it!

Remember that if you want to translate eZ Platform v2, you should work on this branch: https://crowdin.com/project/ezplatform/zh-HK#/2.0

Feel free to ask if you have any questions
